Q: How do you best serve forty million travelers, visitors and twenty thousand employees annually?

A: You build a destination, that values engagement, service and interest.

Solution: You Build A City!

Newark Airport City is being developed to transform Newark Liberty International Airport area from a transportation hub to a global destination. It is predicated on the basis of increased economic capacity, greater functionality and social mobility in and around the Newark Liberty International Airport for travelers,  visitors and industry workers.

Newark Airport City would exist through expanding and developing local, regional and global interest and services. This is being accomplished through capacity building, creating economic opportunities, redefining and building new infrastructure and amenities, branding a new world destination image designed through public and private participation and partnerships.

Newark Airport City's concept and functionality reflects an Aerotropolis. The Aerotropolis model has emerged to propagate the facilitation for the existing and the evolving era of urbanization and globalization through careful strategic planning. The Aerotropolis concept is the brainchild of Dr. John Kasarda, a professor at University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. He serves as chief counsel with government and private developers in countries and cities around the world. Dr.Kasarda is also co-author of the book Aerotropolis, www.aerotropolis.com  and is one of the foremost authorities on the expansion of global production and enterprise systems in and around airport facilities around the world.

Newark Liberty International Airport's surrounding geography has underutilized development areas. Newark Airport City planning through public engagement  will forge the re-use of airport property for industry growth, economic development and job creating purposes. Newark Airport City will offer a new business and marketing engine and image, providing new services and corporate attraction, built upon Newark's legacy of innovation, aviation and travel leadership.

Newark Airport City.......... a new economic irrigation, for new revenue streams. Newark Airport City’s purpose is to provide greater structure and capacity for economic growth, regional sustainability, serviceability and competitiveness. This will be achieved through maximizing connectivity and supporting existing and emerging markets for local trade and global travel.

The proposed Aerotropolis in and around Newark Liberty International Airport will serve as a comprehensive service and economic growth initiative. Newark Airport City's development plan and implementation is industry shaped and driven through collaboration and better understanding of supply and demand.  Newark's air travel, population, area economic and social demographics, serves as key indicators to analysis the development of Newark Airport City. The desired result is to cultivate and engage effectively underutilized resources to re-position and build new infrastructure, that supports new industry growth, social mobility, better services and market interest. "..........new global services, image and destination,” creating new jobs, business and trade opportunities."
